So, Winter is no longer coming, unfortunately it is upon us. If you’re anything like me, your skin is absolutely hating it, drying up like a flower that hasn’t been watered in a while. Cracked skin, dry lips and flaky skin…yep, I totally feel ya- it sucks! This is why I’m super excited to tell you about Karinda, an Australian Organic Skincare range that I’ve currently been using…and completely loving!
Now, I’m not one to usually have a very detailed skincare regime – normally, I’d cleanse my face maybe once every two days and moisturise every night before bed…that’s it. Let’s not forget whilst travelling, I basically have no skincare regime – which is why I always end up noticing a small line near my eyes every time I return from an adventure abroad. Small wrinkles at the age of 24, I know scary – that’s what the sun and cooler weather has the power to do unfortunately! Hence my need to enforce the importance of taking care of your skin and by following Karinda’s super easy 3 – 4 step regime, their amazing organic products will definitely be your roadmap to better skin!
What is Karinda?
Now, for those of you thinking ‘who or what is Karinda’?, let me give you the low down. Karinda is an Australian Organic Skincare range crafted by its founder Tricia. Passionate about helping others with their skin concerns, Tricia set out to use some of Australia’s amazing botanical species to create her skincare range.
Okay, now you know what Karinda is, you’re probably thinking ‘why is C raving on about this’? Yes, good and totally valid question! The thing I’m loving about this range is just how special the ingredients are and how amazing they make my skin feel. So we’re going to nerd out for a few seconds (it’s the good nerding out don’t worry!). Karinda’s key ingredient – the Kakadu Plum actually contains photo-active compounds, which means that it is a powerful antioxidant, is anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial. The Kakadu Plum actually contains 100 times more vitamin C than an orange. Why is this important? I mean we don’t want to eat our cleansers and moisturisers do we?! The answer is hell no…but vitamin C is super important for tissue growth and the production of collagen for younger and healthier skin – which is why these products are totally my new best friend for travel and everyday skincare.
Your roadmap to better skin
I did mention a roadmap earlier didn’t I?! You can check this out below!
As you can see, there is a 3-4 step quick and simple process using the different products. Let me take you through each step/product and my experience with it.
Step 1: Cleansing
The Karinda purifying cleanser is low foaming and works to gently remove makeup, dead skin cells and impurities, whilst maintaining a balanced natural oil level on your skin. This is actually what I loved most about the cleanser – the fact that I did not have that tight and dry feeling of all the oil being stripped away after using it. My skin actually felt completely cleansed, ultra soft and invigorated. Oh and get this, on the same day of using the cleanser – I noticed that my skin was drawing out the impurities that were previously trapped under its’ surface…talk about rapid action!
To use the cleanser, I simply put a twenty cent peice size onto my and gently rubbed onto my damp face. After a few moments, I washed it off with warm water and dabbed my face clean.
Step 2: Using the Serum
If you don’t already know about Serums, then you definitely need to get on them! I’ve been trying a few out lately, everything from boutique skincare to your general chemist-bought ones. Yes, I can vouch for the Karinda face serum on the basis that it is oil free and doesn’t leave your face looking like Kim Kardashian’s oiled butt. In fact, the serum contains this awesome ingredient called Neodermyl, which is a source of bio-energy to cells and assists them in reactivating synthesis of collagen and elastin. In other words, the serum will work to reduce wrinkles and redness, as well as improve your skin’s firmness.
Apply the serum every morning and night after cleansing and before moisturising. When applying, simply pump a ten cent peice onto your face or hand and gently rub in. Be careful went using the pump, because the serum is quite runny – the good runny though 🙂
Step 3: Moisturising
You can probably tell, but I’m a huge fan of moisturisers – partially because I have to (my skin can get super dry!). Once again, I have to say that I was impressed with the quality of the Karinda moisturiser, not only was it leightweight and didn’t clog my pores, it was also ultra hydrating and left my skin feeling firmer. For those of you concerned about skins of aging or sun damage, this one is definitely for you! The Karinda moisturiser contains extracts of beautiful Australian fauna including the Kakadu Plum, Illawarra Flame Tree, Mountain Pepper Leaf and Crown of Gold, providing antioxidant protection and reduce the signs of aging. Winning!!
When using the moisturiser, only place a ten cent peice into your hand and rub gently onto your face after cleansing. Trust me, a little of this moisturiser goes a long way!
Optional: Sacred Youth Oil
Sacred Youth Oil – it sounds exotic, I know! Packaged in a funky dropper bottle, it kind of is 🙂 The Scared Youth Oil is made from botanical oils to help reduce those fine lines that we were previously talking about and improve the skin’s hydration levels.
When using the Sacred Youth Oil, simply apply 2 drops to your face and gently rub in. If you wish to use the oil, it is best applied after cleansing. I’m actually loving this oil because I can feel my skin soaking up the moisture and thanking me for it. Did I also mention that the oil has a beautiful tea tree scent?!
All in all, I had a great experience in using these products and can highly recommend the Karinda Australian Organic Skincare range. If you’re interested in picking up any of the products mentioned in this post, simply visit www.karinda.com
